About me

About me

Marsi Carr

I grew up in Burbank in a musical family.

My father played bass clarinet and saxophone with the L.A. Philharmonic for 27 years, my brother is a renowned studio flute player and music professor at UCLA. My sister is an accomplished pianist and my mother played a thoughtful and warm piano.

At a very young age I began to take piano lessons from wonderful teachers. A bit later I began playing the guitar. I’ve sung all my life, from learning harmonies with my sister to private lessons, classes and my time at UCLA with the Roger Wagner Chorale. After graduating from UCLA I joined a touring band and traveled the country singing.

After a few years I met my husband, Charles, an accomplished musician and writer and began singing with his band. We traveled for about 3 years, finally settling in San Diego where we raised our amazing kids Samantha and Alex.
